Where do i find these brands of cat food?

Davina

I just read up on some of the questions about the best food to feed your cat, and most of the reccommended brands I have never even heard of. Where do they sell brands such as Nutro, Innova, and Wellness?

Joannie

Nutro can be found at Petsmart and possibly petco, but only their holistic formula is anything I would even consider feeding to my animals. Nutro was affected by the recall, so Id be hesitiant to trust their company AT ALL. My local independent pet supply store (no pets for sale) sells both Innova and Wellness. You might check your phone book for similar stores. Also, Blue Buffalo and Natural Balance are of similar calibur. Blue Buffalo is available at Petsmart and Natural Balance is available at PetCo. http://www. naturalbalanceinc. comHope this helps! : )

Petland sells the nutro, and I believe it is either petco or petsmart that has the Wellness. Also some smaller owned pet supply stores carry those as well.

If you go to their websites, most of them include a "where to buy" link. PetCo appears to be a national store; Ive seen it mentioned more than once. They sell Natural Balance. You can look in the yellow pages for pet stores in your area. Look for the indies. See if they have websites where they list their products or give them a call to see what brands they sell. Some are sold in organic markets. For instance Whole Foods carries its own brand, and Ive seen Paul Newmans there as well. The Humane Society in your area might even have a little store. You wont find ANYTHING good at Petsmart.

I can buy them locally. I also use Natural Balance, Avoderm Natures Variety, By Nature Organic, Lick Your Chops etc. The manufacturers usually have websites where you can put in a zip code and find the nearest retailer. Wellness is made by Old Mother Hubbard. You can always go to: www. petfooddirect. com and click on any food and "details" will give you the ingredients. So dont limit yourself to the three you mentioned. Read Dr. Jean Hovfes article at www. littlebigcat. com titled "Selecting a Good Commercial Pet Food" for guidelines in choosing one. Use your local classified and call around to any small, owner-operated pet stores. Those people carry the quality foods and can give you good advice about them in making your choice.

Some of the cat foods that you just names like nutro are on the list of bad foods. Wellness and innova are not on the list.
