What is the best cat food i can give my sweetie?

Digna

I have nine month old, male, neutered, hyper-as-all-get-out, domestic short hair, indoor cat. What is the best wet food that I can give him and what is the best dry food that I can give him?

Canned food thats free of glutens, and by-products are the best food you can feed your cat, a male especially (they are prone to urinary tract disorders and blockages). Some foods that are really healthy include Wellness, Merrick, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, and Blue Buffalo. There are others - you are looking for food that is by-product free, gluten free, and as grain free as possible. Canned food is a much healthier diet than dry - dry food was created for our convenience and not for our cats health. It is now linked to such feline disorders as obesity, diabetes, urinary tract disorders, and even kidney disease (it keeps the cat in a state of dehydration, which is bad for the kidneys). And dry food does not clean the teeth any more than eating hard pretzels cleans ours. Cats do not chew, and their teeth are designed for ripping meat and not for chewing. Watch a cat eat - they bite the kibble and then swallow the pieces. It cant clean their teeth. If you must feed dry, then feed one of the grain-free kibbles like Innovas EVO, Wellness Core, or Merricks Before Grain. Cats were designed to eat meat, and not grain, so at least there is no grain in these foods.

Don´t feed any dry food - they are all bad for him. My cat got kidney stones when she was young due to dry food. During those multiple episodes her kidneys were scared and now she has acute kidney failure. Only feed canned food - look for tins that don´t say ¨Pet food only¨ on them. Fancy feast is ok but you should be able to get better quality. My cat eats human grade white tuna meat (it is produced for the Japanese cat food market - in small tins like fancy feast).
