Royal Canin Cat Food Question?
Hi, I'm trying to feed my cats a better food. I had them on Purina One and then my brother gave them some dry Science Diet as a gift. They like it, but I do not care for the ingredients in them. I have switched them from Friskies canned food to Blue Spa Selects. They really like the Blue Spa Selects. Usually they will just lick the gravy off the Friskies, but they actually eat the Blue. I am looking for a healthy cat food, no wheat, corn, brewer's yeast, or soy. I want something that cats actually eat. They did not like the Wellness canned food and I have not tried another dry food since they've been eating Science Diet. I would eventually like to get them off dry food and have them only eat canned. Any serious suggestions appreciated.
What is the best canned and/or dry cat food?

I feed my kittens Purina kitten chow right now and was looking at the ingredients and comparing them to some of the high end cat foods. Besides a select few (such as Chicken soup for the cat), many of the "quality" cat foods only have one type of meat listed in their ingredients---just like the Purina kitten chow--except they cost twice as more. Now my kittens get 2 bowls a day (at breakfast and dinner time) and they seem content with it (I have tried free feeding them and took notice that breakfast and dinner time were the only times they approached food bowl).My question is this: if I switched to the "higher" end cat food (like Science Direct) that only has 1 meat listed in their ingredients, would I really feed them less as some people claim and see better results than the Purina kitten chow, or is this a hype? I mean I don't want to waste the extra money if its the same results. Also what about the "more higher quality" brand food like the Chicken soup for the cat's soul--continu--does that make a really big difference on how much they get fed?

I was at the pet store today and saw some Nutro Max Cat Gourmet Classics canned cat food. I rotate through a lot of different brands and flavors since I have kittens and want them to get used to different foods. They eat Fancy Feast, Wellness, Purina Selects, Avoderm, Authority too. This Nutro Max Cat was one food my other cats had liked before. The label shows the ingredients as Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Wheat Gluten.. Venison, etc. I know this was on the recalled list months ago, but if it's showing up in the stores again . ..Is it safe? I am looking for what to feed my cats since everything else that I had tried seemed to get recalled one way or another. I am looking for an aswer as to whether or not you are feeding your cats Fancy Feast wet food (gluten free flavors), Purina dry food, Meow Mix dry food, or Meow Mix Select wet food. Or has anyone had a problem with these foods. Please don't answer by referring to the recall list. I have seen the list dozens of times. I am being precautionary and checking with people who are using these products or know people who are. Please don't suggest the better quality premium brands because I have to order them online as there are no retailers in my area. I was feeding my cats healthy foods and all ended up recalled. I have also heard that purina uses products from the US and the corn gluten in Meow Mix dry is of US origin.
Has anyone had any problems with Purina (Fancy Feast) or Meow Mix?
