I have gotten coupons in the mail from Purina. I can get a free 10lb bag and a free 25lb bag. I am not feeding this to my pets (yuck), but I'm donating it to the shelter. So, should I get 25lbs of cat food and 10lb of dog food, or vice versa? What are they more in need of? Thanks! I requested the coupons so I could give food to the shelter.

did it really help the cat? How did your cat look and act after the 30 days, did it really make a difference? I thought I would try it with my cat. Today is day one. If nothing else at least I got a free bag of cat food out of it. He seems to really like the food a lot. the first ingredient is chicken, I guess that's good? I was feeding him canned food, then I switched to Meow Mix, and I noticed his coat is all nasty looking since feeding him the Meow Mix.

I noticed there were a few negative reviews on the Purina brand. I have a 9 month old kitten, and right now she's on Iams because she kept getting diarrhea from Nutro when she was younger. I've had no troubles with Iams, and I've had 3 cats before her, so I'm aware of the switching food brands over time. However, I received a coupon in the mail for a free bag of Purina One the other day, and it expires in March. I've read that it doesn't contain much nutrition value, which isn't beneficial for kittens during their first year. However, right now any savings towards my wallet would really help. Inexcusable to some, but I'm sure others can understand the small financial situations like these. So, should I redeem the coupon or throw it out?

I was at the pet store today and saw some Nutro Max Cat Gourmet Classics canned cat food. I rotate through a lot of different brands and flavors since I have kittens and want them to get used to different foods. They eat Fancy Feast, Wellness, Purina Selects, Avoderm, Authority too. This Nutro Max Cat was one food my other cats had liked before. The label shows the ingredients as Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Wheat Gluten.. Venison, etc. I know this was on the recalled list months ago, but if it's showing up in the stores again . ..Is it safe? I just adopted a dog for the first time ever yesterday. I've always had cats so I'm kind of new to this. She is a 3 year old dachshund/jack russell terrier mix. When I got her she was in heat and she still is now. We were suppose to get a free bag of dog food when i got her and they didn't even say anything about it. So for the first night I gave her Purina Alpo Prime Cuts(wet food). It was all we had at the time and she ate it just fine. She isn't potty trained so I would rather her eat dry food so if she does accidently go to the bathroom it won't be such a mess to clean up. So today I tried to give her The Good Life Recipe(dry food) and she won't eat it. She hasn't ate since yesterday. Anyone have any ideas or info. on why she's not eating it? I adopted her from the humane society. And on her description it said she was living with ppl who keep her tied up to a tree. Also I thought if you fed a dog wet food it would make her droppings runny. But if you fed it dry food it would be hard and easier to clean up is this not true? She also seems to not have any energy is this normal when their in heat?

My two cats have been eating this formula for well over a year, possibly two years, and the last 18 pound bag that I bought at Wal-Mart has been untouched. They would rather eat nothing than even touch it. Inside that bag was a sample bag of their Natural version of cat food made with real chicken. They ate it up. Did Purina add some nasty ingredient so that cats would not eat the indoor formula, and include a free bag of some higher priced cat food so that they could up-sell us? They have responded to me and said that they have not changed the formula, and that it could have been stored near chemicals, and sent me a coupon for a free bag of whatever plus two coupons for $2.00 off.. whoopee. The cats seem to like the new Natural Purina version so I guess I will stick with it, and tell wal-mart to give us back our money. Good luck to you all. I hope no other pets die.
