Why is my cat throwing up after eats food then grass?

My cat eats a lot. He eats some snacks and cat food and then he goes outside to the backyard and sometimeswhen i watch him outside he nibbles the grass and then comes inside and throwsup. What is in the grass that is making my cat throw up? Can he get sick from this?
