i have bichon puppy who isnt eating....?
Any reason why a dog will choose cat food over his own food? I have to literally put the cat food up on a counter, so he won't eat it all. Is it something he could be missing from his diet? I just don't get it. I feed him Purina Little Bites.

Dog Chooses Cat Food Over His Own..?
I have come to the conclusion that my cat has a food allergy. He is 6 years old and was originally on Royal Canin kitty food, we then had some major issues with UTI's and we switched to the Science Diet C/D. He hated that food so, he is now eating Purina One for Urinary Health. He has been licking all his fur off...it is not fleas or anything else, he just grooms constantly and it has gotten worse since the Purina food. I am wondering if there is an food out there that is holistic to cut down on his allergies and would also be okay for his pee problem.

Kitty has allergy to his Urinary Health food?
Hi, I just came back from my 2 week holiday and my persian kitty had been taken care of while we were gone, but she only got brushed every 4 or so days, with a very fine comb, and she is shedding like crazy! I have never had this problem before because we keep her very well brushed, but the rate that he hair is falling at, is alarming - im not worried about my clothes or the hair everywhere, im worried about her! Can someone tell me how i can enrich her diet further (by adding certain vitamins maybe?) to help her hair growth please? She eats purina dry food and friskies wet food and she is a 9 month old doll face persian. Any help is greatly appreicatedThanks

Persian cat hair help please?
I want to give my cat Purina One dry cat food, but with all the varieties, I'm not sure which one to give him. What kind of experience have you had with the Purina One brands? I already know cats don't need grains, or by-products, and that I should feed a wet-food only diet, or that there are hundreds of BETTER foods than Purina. I've had two cats over 10 years eating the Purina brand, and they have been perfectly healthy according to their yearly vet visits. I'm just curious about the differences & experiences with Purina ONE Chicken & Rice formula, Salmon & Tuna, the Healthy Weight formula (My cats are not overweight, but this food has a higher protein content), or the Sensitive Systems formula. Thanks :-)

Purina ONE cat food opinion?
I've changed the food I give my cat. His new food makes him pee a mountain more, though he really seems to like eating it, prowling around his dinner bowl area before I even give it to him. His litter has around 1/5 less stool and 5 times more urine than usual. Should I be worried or is it just that the new food is metabolized differently? He's gone from Vetdiet for adults (a generic brand here in Canada) to Purina Pro Plan Turkey & Rice Formula, FYI. Is it normal for him to pee abundantly more?

Cat Diet Nutrition Question?
Several things here, #1. We live in Oregon and it's cold here and we move into one room for the winter. Our cat "Angel"(his highness) an 18 pound 41inch long gray/silver MUTT. has some odd behaviors, talents maybe?...he can meow and it sounds like human words, some classic "Mama, hungry(two syables) stopppppppp, pleaseeeee, Donttttt, & daddddd, and a few others,. one is two sylables "Nathan"...and some others that almost sound like he's possessed...(but he aint) he can also reach and trun a doorknob....he has this habit though, he lays down near his food bowl and reaches in and pulls out a few pieces of dry food, pulls them out and eats a few pieces and then does it a few more times,...this has developed into his placing his head into the bowl, laying down infront of it and then turning on his side and tipping the bowl onto it's side so the food runs into his mouth as if he were a human being......Now, he tried to wake me up without walking across my face like he used to do,.....his litter box is near my bed,....about 8:00am he goes and takes a huge stinking dump and it' so bad that my eyes water and my nose burns!!!!!!!! seriously. That dosen't happen the rest of the times during the day when he uses the litter box.....so I have to get up and clean his litter and go back to bed, the moment i get up, he wants me to give him fresh food and water, if i do it, he lays back down and the world is well for him.....now, on the bright side, he won't eat just any food, he won't eat expensive food, not canned food or food from a pouch, he only eats the cheapest food you can buy, he hates science diet and Iams and purina so we get the store brand dry food....he's 10 years old and still spry and youthful, he likes hide and seek and plays with string and all that. Now if we leave for a few days and we creep feed him, we come back and he's crapped on my bed or peed on it or on some other thing that we use as furniture and that TICKS ME OFF........I love this old cat, he's part of me but he makes as good a dog as he does a cat....I'm not so sure about him though......it's as if we rent this place for him and him alone.....thoughts anyone? Nathan

I think my cat is strange, I might be renting my house just for him.?
So, my kitty is eating a kibble diet where he eats lots grains. He is VERY picky about his food and this, purina, whiskas... are the only food he'll eat. He is an indoor/outdoor cat and he grazes when hes inside. How can I pull him on a schedule only eating 2 times a day. Then how do I add in raw? He honestly doesn't know how to eat it!! He also will cry, cry, cry, cry, cry until we feed him as well.

Crazy cat question - how to make my cat stop grazing and eat a raw diet?
Hi, well i have a 2 year old male cat. In the last week its like he has gone of his food. He will go and pick at it, but wont eat like he used to a couple weeks ago. We have tried different cat foods but he still picks at them. He isnt sick, he is in 100% health and isnt loosing weight he just wont eat the cat food we buy but he will eat ham or cheese or anything like that, but we dont wont him eating to much of that because its not good for him. What cat food should i buy? please help im at a loss with this. We have tried:super coat which he used to likewhiskasfrisky which he used to LOVEpurinapawsdivinehills science dietand a couple more a cant think of the names. Is there a good nutritios cat food that you think he would like? This could also be a factor he did loose his buddy 2 weeks ago?????but has got a new friend who he loves now??????Thanks :)yes he gets biscuits in the morning a wet cat food at night, he usually likes whiskas, divine and fancy feats but wont even eat them so i dont know what to do!!!

my cat wont eat please help?
He's only 4 years old and is getting overweight. I want to change his diet before he gets older so he can lose weight and also be more healthy overall. I've tried Evo and Natur'es Variety but he doesn't like either. Also, he'll eat wet cat food, but likes to munch on dry food throughout the day so I need a good healthy dry (prefably holistic) food. Any suggestions?

I want change my cat to a holistic diet but he only likes Purina One. Any suggestions?
Hi everyone, this is my first question on here. I have had my cat Fudgie (looks like a fluffy chocolate Fudge Brownie awwwww lol) since she was a kitten, for the past 6 years she's been living with my ex. I now have her in my care, she is now 7 years old. She came to me very unwell and in desperate need of TLC and a trip to the vet. She had a skin disease, fleas, two types of worms, underweight, hair loss and general her spirit wasn’t there. She has been with me for just under 2 weeks now and immediately she is so much happier here and her health is improving now with her daily medication and she is an amazing and loving character. She is eating top quality food, has toys, gets loads of attention etc etc, a completely different environment she has been used to so I wasn’t sure how she would behave. I have been spoiling her rotten with top quality beds and things to scratch, she is my princess and I love her so much. It's been a very long time since she has been in a routine. I had a few problems like she would cry most of the night at my bedroom door and scratching my sofa. But I am good at training her so now these things are dying down already, which is great. My reason for my post is about her food, I decided to give her the exact amount of recommended amount for food that the instructions say. I find now recently in the last couple of days she is finishing her bowl of food quicker. I am very hesitant to increase her food portions as I don't her being overweight and especially being an indoor cat (for now) there is a high risk of this happening. I feed her 30g of Purina One dry food and 1 pouch of Whiskas wet food per day which I split into two portions, one in the morning when I wake and once in the evening. I find she eats more in the evening portion so I decided to give more of the daily allowance in the evening. My cat is the type of cat to finish her bowl in about 3 separate visits, rather then scoffing it down in one go. I do give her about 3 treats every other day (healthy cat ones) and a tiny (I mean maybe 3 little bits, very tiny) of some chicken or fish if I have it for my dinner (I don't do this daily). She is so amazing, she doesn’t beg for food, very pleasant and playful, wants a lot of cuddles, she talks a lot (like me lol) she responds well to commands (fantastic memory as I taught her these when she was young!!!) She came into my care underweight; on the diet I am giving her she will naturally increase in weight to normal. I am worried on creasing her food quantity, what do you think?
