What can I feed my cat?

Cortney

What can I feed my cat? Im not feeding her any wet or dry cat food b/c they keep adding onto the list of stuff that is being recalled. Im giving her tuna, but can I mix that with something to make it into a cat food? Like with a gravy or something? Or what else can I feed her, a mix of something?

U need to be really careful about what u feed her, trying buying some of that home-made organic stuff from the store. if thats not an option, u might want to add a little white rice to the mix. stay away from onions, raisans, grapes, anything related to onions also, its really bad for cats.

Jacquelin

Our cats seem to like boiled chicken mixed with a little bit of white rice.

Do NOT keep feeding her tuna. Too much tuna can kill her. I would suggest getting some lean ground meat and cooking it and feeding her about 1/2 a cup each day.

Purina dry cat food is not on the recall list. I got an email from them and they told me that their dry food is ok. go to hubpages and check out the list of foods that you can feed your cat. they have a list of good foods.

I totally understand you want to make sure your cat isnt eating contaminated food, but please stop giving your cat tuna. Its not nutritionally balanced for cats, and if you continue, she will start developing nutrition deficiencies. You CAN feed dry/wet food as long as its good quality. Try Innova, Wellness, Eagle Pack, Solid Gold, or California Natural. There are other good quality foods, Im just blanking on them at the moment. These foods are formatted especially for a cats nutritional needs - they contain no grains and have good high quality protein sources. I feed my cats a mixture of Innova dry regular and Innova dry reduced fat (one overweight cat). They have done wonderful on this food and it is NOT included in the recall. In fact, none of the brands I mentioned are included in the recall because they dont contain the ingrediant that was the main source of the contamination (wheat).
