What is the most natural thing to feed a cat best cat food?

Amiee

I want my kitty to get the food she would in the wild. Obviously I wont be slaying any mice for her pink princess food bowl but could I feed her chicken etc? What about vegetables/ grass? She loves eating grass when I take her outside. What is the most natural diet for a cat? Also, what is the best cat food? I feed her science diet.

Hi The most natural and may be best thing to feed a cat is a raw diet that you would have to specially prepare. email me for links if interested. You would need to get a grinderThe grass is ate basically to throw up hairballs or unprocessed foodThe next best thing is a canned food with no grains. Believe me, there is no science in science diet Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s healthContrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat. Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrediant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things? http://www. catinfo. org/#Learn_How_To_Rea…http://iml. jou. ufl. edu/projects/Spring04…Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u. t.i’s and a host of other problems. Male cats are especially prone to blockagesfrom dry food. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grains and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. ( Have a fat cat?)Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but in Dry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and dont use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive. http://www. catinfo. org/#My_Cat_is_Doing_…You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesnt have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. THE BEST CAT FOODS CONTAIN NO GRAINS NO BYPRODUCTS Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eaters Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www. felinefuture. com/nutrition/bp… Please read about cat nutrition. http://www. catinfo. org/ http://www. catinfo. org/feline_obesity. ht… http://maxshouse. com/feline_nutrition. ht… Vetinarian diets The reason your vet thinks so highly of the pet food they sell probably has more to do with money than nutrition. In vet school, the only classes offered on nutrition usually last a few weeks, and are taught by representatives from the pet food companies. Vet students may also receive free food for their own dogs and cats at home. They could get an Iams notebook, a Purina purse and some free pizza. http://iml. jou. ufl. edu/projects/Spring04…

Raw poultry is the best thing to feed your cat. Just make sure to do lots of reading on the subject (through books) and use supplements. (Our food sources are becoming nutritionally deplete.)edit: (half hour later) : Besides birds, I also have seen stray cats kill rabbits (sometimes carried back to kittens.)

Most food store have there own band of cut up meat for cats and dogs, it is top quality and they will love you for it. it comes in beef or lamb, it is real meat chunks

The most natural diet is a raw one, but that takes research and effort, its not just handing your cat a piece of raw meat. Your cat is a carnivore - she does not need vegetables and grasses, nor grains. In the wild, the only non-meat a cat consumes is *if* they eat the stomach of their prey. This "part" is often left uneaten. If youre not going to feed raw, canned is the next best. In the wild cats do NOT eat dried kibble - that was created for our convenice and not for our cats health. Feed her a canned food with meat as the first ingredient and no by-products. By products are not meat - its the scrap "parts" that are the waste of the slaughterhouse industry - all the junk that has been deemed unfit for human consumption. Its such things as beaks, hides, tendons, intestines, spinal chords, tumors, diseased and spoiled meat, and the scrapings from the machines and floor. All the good parts like the liver is listed as a food ingredient, so is not a by product. Its a very low-quality protein for your cat, and some of it may not be very healthy. A whole mouse is a wholesome food - by products are not. Read the ingredients of any food you buy - price alone is not a guideline. The Science Diet you are feeding her is mostly by-products. You are paying a premium price for scraps. The pet store contains many better choices - Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance - these are three that are available in the big chains. The small stores offer you even more choices. Again - read what youre actually buying her, and avoid any foods with by products, and more than a tiny bit of grain. Thats what nature intended your cat to eat.
