Ofe important is learning to read the labels, I will have a link at the bottom of this post to show some of what you want Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s healthContrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat. Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingredient a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things? http://www. catinfo. org/#Learn_How_To_Rea…Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u. t.i’s and a host of other problems. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptomsThe problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process them. Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but inDry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and dont use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive. You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesnt have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. The optimum food to feed cats has no grains whatsoever, cats have no use for them and many have trouble processing them as well as the carbs. IBD is another disease that is rapidly becoming common amoung cats because of the inappropriate diets being fed. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www. felinefuture. com/nutrition/bp… Please read about cat nutrition. http://www. newdestiny. us/nutritionbasics… http://www. catinfo. org/feline_obesity. ht… http://maxshouse. com/feline_nutrition. ht… Food chartsKeep carbs under 10% Fish no more then 25% of the, mealshttp://www. geocities. com/jmpeerson/canfo…

Is this for your pet? they will eat just about any food you put in their dish if you can afford the expensive one that is good if not the cheaper ones are very good too just remember to at least give them the urinary track food a small bag every other month to keep them safe from the infection I did with mine and the vet suggested it too they also said the different food were the preference of the owner not the animal if you need to be sure as your vet what they recommend

Just do a search for cat food comparison. It will bring up many sites. I have talked to numerous breeders and vets and have tried many many different types of cat foods myself. I find Taste of the Wild to be a favorite with the cats. They love the taste. It is expensive. The largest bag is 15 lbs and is about $22. I have learned that the best thing for a cat is variety. It keeps them from being too picky and helps deter them from getting allergies. I mix the following in one container for my cats: One 15lb bag of Taste of the Wild, One 25lb (I think) of Nutro, and one 10lb bag of Science Diet. I mix it all together and thats what they all get. I also find that they all like Friskies wet food. They each get 1/2 small can daily for a treat. Because I have so many longhair cats I have been giving them hairball gel. That is a pain. So I will be adding at least 10lb bag of hairball dry food to their mix. I will try to find it in Avoderm brand or Science Diet Natural. If not successful I will get the regular Science Diet Hairball food. I also give my cats KMR occassionally and I give them vitamins and iron regularly. There are sprays you can put on their food that make it easier. My cats are spoiled.

Heres a good one. Theres a separate page for canned food and for dry. http://www. felinediabetes. com/cat_food_n…This may help too. http://www. rodentpro. com/qpage_articles_…

I was using the cheap dry cat food and switche to the more expensive cat food because I was told that the cat food was making my cat hyper. Well, my cat is still hyper and has gained weighed, so back to the cheap stuff. The wet stuff makes him go more.
