The food looks like it hasnt been chewed, and hes eating Whiskas Cat food. He also done this when I was feeding him Felix.

Hi! A lot of people say that Whiskas is not great food for cats - aparrently its the cat eviqualent of a MacDonalds! Youd never know it was bad food though, with all the adverts you see on TV promoting it! When I was growing up, our cats were fed Go Cat, and sometimes they would be sick, in a similar way to your cat. My current cat has Iams, Purina or any other complete cat food, and hes never been sick. Could be the food, or could be the cat! Its hard to tell! If you are feeding wet food only, try introducing dry food. Sometimes a diet made completely of wet food can be too rich for the cat. I feed my cat dry food every day, with wet food every other day as a treat. Has your cat always been sick? If its only a recent thing, Id definitely take him to the vet. Is he playful and alert, or does he seem lethargic? Often, cats can be sick because they eat too much food too quickly. Some cats also have sensitive stomachs. One suggeston I would make is to firstly try feeding him smaller meals throughout the day. Even if you work full time, you can still try to do this. Feed him 4 smaller meals a day, instead of 1 or 2, which is what most adults tend to have. If you are out at work all day, obviously you might want to leave a little more food out for him (as long as its dry food and can be left out. Wet food should be thrown away if not eaten within an hour). Another thing you could try if you work in the day is to buy an extra food bowl and leave two bowls out for him in different locations. This way, hell have enough food to last him all day, but because its split into two, hes less likely to gannet the whole lot in one go! A final suggestion is to look at buying some sensitive cat food, as some cats just have sensitive stomachs. Purina One do their own version ( http://www. purinaone. co. uk/cat/products/… ) and so do Iams. If you go to the supermarket or vet, you might find some other brands too. If hes being sick every day, take him to the vet. If he seems to be behaving normally, looks in good health, and is only sick a couple of times a week at most, Id call your vet if you are worried, but try my suggestions and see if it helps! :-)xx Emmie

My vet said to feed less amont but more often

Dagmar

If he normally eats dry, try wet for a while, or vice-versa. It worked for me.

Katelin

The food just tastes so good your cat gulps it down and his stomach rebels and sends it back up again. Im assuming youre giving him dry food and he isnt even chewing it. The solution would be to feed him less, more often. Id start out with half in the morning and half at night. Then keep dividing until he stops barfing. Then if he doesnt stop barfing youd need your vets help to determine if there is something wrong and how to proceed from there.

Try changing food type

Bernard

Try your cat on some boiled chicken and rice, he may have an upset tummy.

If u feed him dry food, make sure he has plenty of water; and provide him fresh cut grass or grow some grass in a pot, it helps cats with indigestion. Still, I think the best thing to do would be to see a vet, maybe its something serious. Good luck!

I feed my 3 on Whiskers hun Gizzy quite often throws up, he is 2 ( maybe its feline terrible twos lol) Funnily enough he only throws up if he has the jelly variety, he is fine on the one in gravy, I also give them once a week a couple tins of tuna fish they it, no milk just water (or t when I am not looking)

Brigida

I have a cat that does the same thing. This type of symptom can be caused from a sensitive stomach or a food allergy. You should take the kitty to the vet to be sure. He will probably give you something to help stop the vomiting and then hell recommend an all natural cat food that should help. When I run out of the cat food I feed my cat cooked chicken, salmon and tuna made from a fillet. She does very well with those foods.

Isela

Yes, my cats do that sometimes - I think they wolf it down too fastHave you tried the whiskers dried food? Its so much better, cleaner and better for their teeths too - Im a convert and my cats are too

Mario

Is he eating too fast? As sometimes this can cause them to be sick... have you tried him on different foods to see if they stop the sickness? Is he still drinking? If hes not then you need to get him to a vet asap as dehydration can cause many problems in cats of all ages, he could also have a problem with his teeth which is why hes not chewing the food which then makes him sick, I think its best if you take him to the vet for a check up anyway.

Try taking his food away for a few hours then give him boiled chicken with a bit of rice, just a small amount at a time, gradually build him up with that then introduce small amounts of his normal food a bit at a time. If that doesnt work then you are right to take him to the vets. Good luck
