How can i feed my cat wet cat food without him crapping and throwing up everywhere? ?

Its annoying! Someone said to feed him wet cat food during the winter, but I tried and he threw up everywhere. How do I get him to hold it in?

If he cant tolerate wet food, dont feed it to him, I have one cat like that.

Unless he is gorging on it (eating too much to fast) he should not be vomiting on wet food. If this is what is going on then simply dont offer him a whole can at a time, give him several smaller meals so that he can only eat a small amount at a time. Some cats have a sensitive stomach and suddenly switching foods (or suddenly adding canned food which is often higher in both fat and moisture than canned) can cause GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea). In this case, dont switch cold turkey. Just offer him a spoonful of canned food at first and slowly add a little bit more food until he is eating the amount of canned food that you want. Also, some cats have food allergies and can not handle certain ingredients. Then there are some other diseases that cats can have which would affect the GI system like irritable bowl disease (although with IBD you would be seeing vomiting and diarrhea on regular adult dry food too)

Get rid of the wet food! I dont know who told you to feed wet food in the winter but that makes no sense at all. Wet food is not better. Just the opposite. Wet food causes tooth decay, is digested much too quickly, makes them more hungry, smells disgusting, causes loose bowels and stomach upset. You shouldnt suddenly change the cats diet because it can really wreak havoc on their digestive systems. Go back to your original food, your cat will thank you for it. Hard crunchy food is the best. I have this problem and the vet said my cats have sensitive stomachs. I feed mostly dry (Hills sensitive stomach food) which they get on with fine. But I like to add a little moiseture to their diets which i do by letting my two share one sachet of food a night (I feed dry morning and night). I find that chicken flavour stayed down the best. Once they were completely okay on chick I slowly introduced turkey flavour and then other favours. They are fine now. I wouldnt recoment and entirely wet diet as cats need dry biscuits to keep their teeth clean.

It depends on the wet food you use. You must choose a quality canned food, not the food you can buy in a grocery store or from your vet. Try Wellness or Evo. Evo chicken or turkey smells like real food is supposed to smell. Cat food is not supposed to reek; if it does, it is not made from real meat but probably meat by-products. You might do some online research on feline nutrition to find out more about by-products; believe me, you will be appalled to find out what by-products really are. You should not rotate your cat between wet and dry food. Keep the cat on wet food all year. Wet food is what cats need. Dry foods usually are full of grains, something a cat never needs. But more importantly, your cats digestive tract is being quite upset by being bounced back and forth between wet and dry foods. Wet food all year, and a quality wet food only. Feed meals. Two per day is sufficient for most cats but if you have one of those cats that likes to gobble its food very quickly, try smaller portions more often, especially while it is getting used to the new food. If you put down some wet food and the cat does not eat it all, take up the uneaten food after it has been down 30 minutes. I urge you to do some research on feline nutrition. Wet food does not cause feline tooth decay. That is a myth. Crunchy food does not clean a cats teeth any more than potato chips or pretzels clean a humans teeth. I had a cat that found tinned food to be too rich for her tummy she was never sick but would crap loads and lost weight. My vet told me to ditch the tinned stuff and stick to a premium dry food.,within days she was getting better..switch back to whatever you were using before and make sure there is plenty water available. some say dry is best and it keeps the teeth cleaner, but then dry food can also cause problems. i have my 3 on a mainly dry diet with the odd tin as a treat

It may be the wrong type of wet food try different brands find his favourite then get differing flavours, you wouldnt like to eat the same meal every day cats are sensitive creatures, certain brands used to make our cats throw up, give him a choice of wet and dry or semi dry. Im sure if you were given something you hated it might prompt you to throw up too We used to keep cats sometimes four at a time and they were all different and liked different things to eat, one liked cucmber and could eat a half of one at a time, or raw potato. good luck

First, try a different brand. Any Purina cat food made my cat "technicolor yawn" all over the place. Try a more natural food. Or, try dry food for awhile. Be careful if your cat is male, though, because too much dry food can cause crystals in his urine and ultimately a blockage.

Thats type of food is supposed to be a treat not an every meal thing i some times get a free can of it in my hard-food purinaONE brand cat food i feed my cats. who ever told u that is a geek give a any one or any animal to much candy they get sick plain and simple.

Keep your cat on dry food.. canned or wet food makes him poop more stinky loose poop and if hes throwing up after eating wet food.. his stomach or system isnt tolerating it, and each time he throws up, hes he is loosing viamins and minerals.. he cant eat wet food, his system cant tolerate it.. keep him on dry food all year long..

The canned cat food is probably too rich for its stomach. Give him dry cat food, it is much better for him. Who ever told you to feed him canned food during the winter, doesnt know what he/she is talking about. Good Luck!
