How do i get my 2 yr old cat to eat cat food believe me i have tried so many options without success?

Letty

He only eats cooked fish or canned tuna. I have had him since his birth and all the other kittens in the litter had no trouble eating cat food.

Hes been spoiled, thats why hes not eating the cat food. Try offering him a high quality dry food (Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Innova) and offer him some canned food as well. When he gets hungry enough hell start eating. I know it sounds mean, but its the truth.

Try different foods and treats

Try adding just the juice from the cooked fish to they dry cat food. If he eats its, keeping adding it to the food then start to add less and less to it until he starts eating it by itself.

I had the opposite problem my cat never ate real food. When she was little we would give her Tender vittles, maybe try a cross between real food and cat food. The cat probably wont like the hard crunchy food but maybe something soft and tuna or fish tasting would do like fancy feast or nine lives. cats are funny like people with taste buds who wont eat certain foods

Put out some dry food (good for urinary tract health) and then take the cooked fish/chicken and mix in either some dry or some can food... (a small amount) then keep adding more. Your cat will go on strike but will eat when you dont see... be patient and keep it up... eventually it will work. good luck

Tuna can be fatal to cats and is not something to be feeding to them...The human variety of tuna fish contains an enzyme that destroys vitamin B1 (thiamine). Cats who regularly eat tuna can develop a vitamin B1 deficiency, which results in neurological symptoms like dilated eyes, loss of equilibrium, seizures and death if this vitamin is not replaced. I found this from a few years ago - someone asked about tuna and a veterinarian responded:http://answers. yahoo. com/question/index;…So basically, you really have to start feeding him regular wet food. Id consult your vet about how to do it though...

If your has only eaten fish for 2 years, it may have significant health problems or nutritional deficiencies. Cats have specific dietary requirements which are difficult to replicate without feeding a commercial diet or using a veterinarian-developed homemade diet. Try canned foods of all brands and flavors, including the more expensive premium brands. Mix the fish or tuna, or just tuna juice with the new canned foods gradually switching to the new food. This may help the transition. There is a cat food your cat will eat, you just havent discovered it yet. Natalie Taylor, RVT

Because dry cat food contains more starch and more carbohydrates than canned cat food, some have argued that a diet containing large amounts of carbohydrates is unnatural for a cat that is anatomically and physiologically designed to be a carnivore. Of course it would work. Check this dry food right over here >>>> http://www. agritura. com/index. php/cat/c3…
