My dog loves cat food more than his dog food, but since its supposedly not good for him, we dont let him have it. I was just wondering if anyone knows why dogs cant eat cat food and basically what the difference is between the two?

Basic difference is that cat food tends to have a higher protein content than dog food. Its alright for dogs to eat cat food, but not for cats to eat dog food, as there is not enough protein in dog food for cats. My cousins Irish setter did great on cat food.
