My cat has hairballs everyday and i tried the stuff in the tube and thats helps alittle but still has them. i know that you should get a high fiber cat food but which is the best? or are all the same?

I personally like feeding IAMS. They have a hairball formula that works well for me, or I should say for my cats. But the hairball formulas alone wont do all the work. You still have to be vigilant about brushing dead hair off of your cat and keep a tube of laxatone on hand.

Try an indoor formula cat food. science diet brand is good but ther are cheaper brands like at walmart and such.

There are many things you can do to help your kitty. I think some of it depends on what kind of cat it is. Meaning is it a long or short hair? Does it have fleas? Do you groom it? Are you sure youre giving your cat enough of the hairball remedy that comes in the tube? I just helped my moms cat with this problem. She thought she was giving her enough of the hair ball remedy. She needed to give more of it, and more often. Plus she needed to groom the kitty. She figured that the kitty was doing a good enough job. Yeah, she was, but had a bunch of hairballs because of it. Heres a site that might help you out. http://www. healthypets. com/hairballs. htm…

The best thing to do is feed your cat dry cat food as a regular feeding then once a week feed the cat one can of moist cat food. do this all the time. i did and my cat never has them

High fiber? cats are carnivores...should be high in proteinYou can help reducing hairball by brushing your cats coat frequently. Find food that has highlevel of linoleic acid and zinc, this reduce shedding and it moves any hair that is swallowed through the digestive tract. Food should not be grain-based (filler), feed food high in animal protein such as chicken meal as the main ingredient. Main ingredient such as these tend to be slightly higher than supermarket varieties. Typically these brands are less-energy dense and digestible, resulting in more intake of food and more stools. my cats like science diet hairball management, iams hairball management, but now they like nutro gourmet classics, roasted chicken flavored hairball management. It can be found at better pet supply stores

I feed our cats IAMS hairball food and they rarely have hair balls. You do need to brush the cats though, helps them out in not digesting the fur they lick.

Dont bother with a special cat food. Give your cat a dollop of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) once a week and your problem will be solved. Actually, some cats will just lick it off your finger, but for others you just have to shove it gently in their mouth. Recommended by vet.
