She hasnt been eating this food; but wants to eat the Purina cat Indoor formula cat food which I feed my other two cats.

First, dont leave food out that she can get to... feed them at certain times and try feeding her in a seperate place. Second, are you gradually changing the food. Over about five days mix the two foods. Gradually add the new food until all the food is the new food. Third, if after a gradual change she still isnt eating it try mixing a little can food. If this doesnt work call your vet for some advice on either a new food or maybe a topping for the food that will intice your cat to eat her new food. Fourth, always reward her when she even nibbles the food. Reward her with gentle praise and stroking.

Does she have kidney problems? Sometimes slowly changing them over put 1/4 new 3/4 old, then 1/2 and 1/2, then 3/4 new and 1/4 old, then all new helps. If the cat absolutely refused take the bag back (Hills has a money back guarantee) and ask for another brand designed for the same thing. Such as reduced protein, VMD(Medi-Cal) makes it. Let your vet know the problems you are having they may be able to suggest something else.

If she doesnt like the food then try another. There are other brands that she may like better. Ask your vet. If you can afford it, feed them all the same food if your vet approves. It would be much easier than to keep their food separate.

Angel gave an excellent answer to your question! You might also try mixing just enough canned food to lightly coat the dry kibbles. Give it to her seperate from the other cats at specific feeding times, this will ensure that she is hungry when you offer the food. If you are feeding canned k/d, then heating it in the microwave for a few seconds can make it more enticing because it increases the aroma. Make sure it isnt too hot! Definitely watch that she doesnt go too long without eating. She obviously has kidney problems or wouldnt have been described this food. Fasting in cats can cause serious problems rather quickly, especially if they are already sick. Her old food would be better than no food, until you vet can give you some advice on how to get her to eat. Also, make sure she has access to fresh water at all times. Encourage her to drink if you need to.

Try mixing a little of the vet food with what she likes then keep adding more of the vet food and less of the other

Hills needs to do something about that k/d!! Cats have NEVER liked it. It has been around for YEARS and cats have hated it for years. The dry has almost no smell, which cats require to eat, and the canned looks BAD. Almost a rubber-like quality to it. Ask your vet about other prescription diets. Eukanuba makes a line of them also, and it seems many cats prefer them. You can also ask about a home-made diet. There are many and there are several for kidney function. If you ask the vet, they may have other suggestions also.
