What is the best healthy canned cat food?

Amberly

My cat isnt digesting Innova Evo canned food well, so Id like to switch her to something low-carb, grain-free.

I recommend varying the diet with a constant rotation of 2 to 4 different brands of canned foods that your cat enjoys. If you do this, and allow your cat the same assortment they would have in nature when eating mice, bugs, birds and rabbits, your cat’s digestive system wont be so sensitive and you wont have to run around looking for a specific brand when your store is out. You will have a nice variety to choose from instead. Canned foods I recommend you consider for your rotation: Natures Variety - http://www. naturesvariety. com/content. la… Wellness Grain Free Formula’s - http://www. wellnesspetfood. com/cat_welln…By Nature Organics - http://www. bynaturepetfoods. com/productp… Organix - http://www. castorpolluxpet. com/store/org… Evangers Holistic Pheasant - http://www. evangersdogfood. com/cat/20089… Evangers Organic Braised Chicken - http://www. evangersdogfood. com/cat/50103… Evangers Turkey Butternut Squash - http://www. evangersdogfood. com/cat/50111…

Try Merrick. Supermarkets wont carry it, but pet stores (petco, petland) should

Evonne

Try Wellness. PetCo carries it or you can order it online. Make sure it is the grain free variety-chicken, turkey, chicken with herring. Fancy Feast also makes some grain free foods. Heres a good site for info on feeding your cat:http://catinfo. org

I give my cats meow mix healthy choice. they love it and its good for them.

Dessie

When I asked my vet that same question, he recommended Fancy Feast. My cats love it and so far, its been great for them. One recommendation though: Id get the "feast" dinners - not the stuff thats grilled or in gravy. The ground dinners are better for sensitive tummies and will decrease the chances of you having to wipe up after your cat gorges herself and then throws up ;)

Chester

I feed my cat Brandon Farms canned cat food. No fillers, no meat by-products. Made in Canada, it is also available in larger supermarkets in the northeast and midwest U. S.

Celesta

See this list for other suggestions. I have personally used Evo, Wellness, Instincts, Natural Balance, and B. G. (Before Grains, a new product from Merrick).

Canned Food of the cat >>Canned cat food has a moisture content of at least 75 percent, making it a good dietary source of water. It is generally the most expensive type of cat food, but it also is highly palatable to most cats, and different varieties are plentiful, which can be helpful if your cat is a finicky eater. Canned food has the longest shelf life when unopened, but any unused portion of opened canned cat food should be refrigerated to maintain quality and prevent spoilage. Gourmet canned cat foods generally feature meats, such as kidney or liver, and whole meat byproducts as primary food ingredients. Some brands, however, may be nutritionally incomplete, and it is important to read the nutrition labels carefully on such specialty cat-food items to ensure that they have a nutritional guarantee.
