If i feed my cats homemade food will they not eat their store bought cat food?

Gena

3 of my cats will eat wet food, my other female only eats dry. I heard its good to at least give them a little wet. I have some receipes that include chicken, carrots, etc. I just dont want my little ones to get spoiled. Maybe for a special dinner once in awhile. Thanks fellow cat-lovers. Oh, ive tryed so many wet store brand foods to the most expensive Roxy will not eat it.

I have to command you on caring so much for your cats nutrition! Its great that you want to switch your cat from dry. Thats the best thing you can do for her, dry is the #1 cause of feline diabetes and has now been associated with other diseases like UTIs, kidney problems, renal failure etc. I stopped feeding dry completely after studying the subject. The store bought wet food is often low quality. Learn to read the labels and look for cans that have muscle meat as first ingredient and no grain whatsoever. Wellness Core, Blue Buffalo etc. are the good brands. You can also buy raw frozen diet. When you do the change do it gradually by mixing the old with the new to get your cat used to it and avoid vomitting and running stool. Here are some helpful sites on cat nutrition that helped me a lot! Good luck

Try raw feeding. Get some chicken wings and break them up into 3 or 4 pieces. It may take them a while to get the hang of them. Added bonus is that it will help keep their teeth clean.

Do not heard sometimes cats like to do somethings about food and do not like same food high doze of food main problem its means that give them a food when she like to eat then improve the eating matter

Homemade cat food is fine if it is done properly. It is easiest to do and better for the cat if it is raw. It is extremely difficult to prepare cooked cat food because of all the necessary supplementation. I would not use any recipe that had carrots in it. Cats have no use for vegetables. Information on feline nutrition, read all the sections:http://www. catinfo. org/ This is a commercial site that sells products for making cat food safely at home. It also has some excellent nutrition information:http://www. felinefuture. com/ My cats eat an all-wet diet. Two meals of canned and one raw each day.

Dolores

That isnt necessarily true at the moment. They will crave fancy store bought food more than homemade, but will still eat it.
