I just got a new kitten who wont eat kitten or cat food, wet or dry. She will only eat cheese or meat. She wont eat if I try to wait until she gets hungry. She just looks at me with hungry eyes and goes off to play. She is thin and so cute I always give in. The vet said to try different brands which we have. Each and every can there is and its a no go? Whats the problem?

I had the exact problem! apart from it took me a couple of weeks to get to stop! all you need to do is get rid of the meat cheese! and put the cat food, water and milk. even if she doesnt eat try to get it in her mouth(mine bit me)that way she cant stay hungry forever! u see...once she relises that uve taken her food she has no chance but to eatbut do be careful.....i mean dont get her or he sooo hungry without any food 4 about 2 weeksgive her wot she wants from time to time but not too much! good luck! ihope it works! :D

I assume shes been fed meat and cheese instead of cat food b4 you had her(unless you started it). take some cat food and mix it with the meat and cheese, grind up the cat food, the meat, and the cheese and mix it together, start with less cat food in the mix and eventually add more cat food until it eventually turns into all cat food. maybe start with 5 peices of cat food and keep adding 5 pices more each time.

1 how old is the kitten? Has the vet done a thorough check? Does it feel like hes brushing you off? Get a new vet if you dont like the old one. A hungry cat will eat something they dont like when they get hungry enough. It may take a few days. Or mix meat and cheese with cat food to get her use to the taste. Where does the kitty come from, how healthy is the mother? Has she had all her shots? Did she have responsible pet owners or was she from a kitty mill?

My cat did this too when it was a kitten. feed her two times a day in the same time everyday by the way my vet says that cat food is not good for cats it brings cancer or another disease i dont remeber, hotdog will be a nice meal for that kitty and also goat milk cheese cats love it. i hope i helped white angle xxx

Cheese and meat isnt very good for her. Most cats are lactose intolerant so cheese could give them a tummy upset. What you need to do is be firm. If she asks for cheese or meat do not give in, and then put some cat food in for her. Gradually, shell understand that you are going to stop feeding her the cheese and that cat food is the only soloution. :)Or you could try mixing the cheese and meat in with the kitten food. Shell assosciate the taste with it and then after a couple of weeks when she gets used to it take the cheese out. Good luck! :-)
